Revolv has posted a photo on their Twitter account of their upcoming Android app. Once released, this should go a long way towards increasing adoption of their smartphone hub. Up until now, those looking to control their hub would have to do so using their free iOS app. This of course limits interest in an otherwise popular home automation hub to those who own an iPhone. With the incredible popularity of Android phones and devices, it’s a platform that cannot be ignored.
Revolv has shared a look at the Dashboard on what appears to be a Nexus 5. No word yet on whether this app will support both phones and tablets. The design looks clean, simple and follows the holo design principles. No word yet on when it might be released and if the company will consider a beta release. Apple typically makes beta testing a bit more difficult than with Android, which simply requires a customer enable side-loading. Over the past few months, Sonos has been testing a major update to their Sonos Controller for Android app.
This tease will certainly get the interest of Android fans, who might not be crazy about the iPhone schematic used for the background.
